(photo)My latest art playday with myself ended up with the winter collage of this fun vintage snowman. (no, I don't say snowperson-teehee) I did a witch also, but need a tiny adjustment before I post her.

Well, it's already 11:13 am on Wed. 9/20/06.....I'm not sure which part is such a suprise, the date, the year, the day of the week or the time of the day....it's all going by sooooo fast. My work hours have been cut back to 36. This is not anywhere close to enough to pay the bills. I 'm not sure I'm doing as well as I would like to on holding myself open to the flow of universal prosperity. The panic of "not enough" is nipping at my heels-big time. The plan is to get busy making art and selling it on my etsy site (www.ellisonjames.etsy.com). So, of course, I'm sitting here playing with my computer and watching t.v. I just finished 20 or so games of spider solitar. I really don't want to be the queen of procrastination....I'm just so good at it. Let's hope that at the end of today, I'll have a picture to post of something I have made to sell. I want to become alot more skillfull at production work, so it doesn't take so long to make a piece of art(unless I want it to). Anybody out there with any good hints feel free to let me know.

Time is flying by, and fall is definately here. This is my favorite time of the year. Here in the Pacific Northwest it is beautiful. Right now we are having plenty of rain and my garden is very happy. I got the newest Somerset Studio last night and cant't wait to get to work so I can read it. I love having a job that allows me plenty of time for reading. I've actually just started reading murder mysteries for the first time. What a fun frivolous activity. My friend Kathy, came to play in my art studio on Wed. We had such a great day. Since taking over the living room and dining room I have plenty of places to work. Target had a closeout sale and I got 4 of those great big (6') folding plastic tables...yipee. We worked in encaustic and collage. Kathy was in heaven and finished 4 Egyptian flavored pieces that are beautiful. I wanted to get pictures of them before she left, but never got around to it. I spent most of the day making new encaustic medium. Boy does it take a long time to melt damar. At the begining of the process, I commented on how silly it is to spend so much more to buy already make encaustic medium. By the end, I was sure that no matter how much they charged, it was a great deal. lol What a mess, it looked like an Ethel and Lucy episode.

Yahoo, I just sold my second piece. I'm on my way, slowly but surely....I wonder where I'm going?? I just started doing some production work on some jewelry for a small private show the end of Oct. I'm very slow on this production stuff> I wonder what amazing things I will learn this time.

This is the FUN project I did yesterday. What a great day it turned out to be. I was scheduled to work, then they called me on Wed. p.m. to say I had lost this client. I had mixed feelings. I was relieved because 1-I really wanted more free time to make art and catch up around the house...and 2-this was a emotionally difficult client. I was also invited to go to panic due to the loss of hours ($$$). I chose to go to accepting this gift from spirit to support my goal to make a living making art. I just have to trust that this is for my well-being. I treated the day as a prectious gift and decided to take full advantage of the time, knowing that I may be working extra hours soon. I did several projects that I have been wanting to finish, but not quite getting around to doing (baking a peach cobbler, washing my comforter, cleaning the deck, shampooing the carptet and finishing the "Groovy Baby" collage. I can't tell you how wonderful it feels to have these all done.

I can't believe it's already Labor Day weekend. Yesterday I drove down to Daniel Smith to get some encaustic supplies. I sure hate paying ALOT more for supplies in a store than I could get online....but as my errand running companion pointed out "your here, and you'll have them to do some work now". Next time, more planning (who me?lol). Well, anyway, we hit the "lets get out of town for the long weekend" traffic. ALMOST TWO HOURS TO GO 30 MILES!!!! and it was only 1:30 pm. Today I have to work 9am-9pm with an hour commute. I'm really hoping that everyone is where ever they need to be so the traffic is normal.
