I applied with 3 paintings (that I love) to the Arts Council of Snohomish County's juried art show. You guessed it....REJECTED. Needless to say I am very disappointed. Then today in the mail came the letter from Artist Trust telling me I didn't get the grant I applied for...REJECTED. I have to admit I'm finding it VERY difficult to keep going. I just figure my severe disappointment is telling me how important this is for me, so of course I can't give up. Maybe I'm just getting all my rejection taken care of early so I won't have to worry about it later.-lol I'm looking at the quality of my photography and application package to see if that might be the problem. I really hope that it isn't because my art is "crappy". I certainly see some that is much worse than mine...in the shows that have turned me down. Let me know what you think. Got 2 go, I figure I still have a couple of hours left on a 10min photoshop project.-lol

I applied 2 pieces to a group show at Solovie, a small local gallery and YIPPEE!!! one of them was accepted. I delivered it last Fri. and the show opens tomorrow and runs through Aug. 16th. Feel free to stop by the artist's reception on Sat. July21st from 2pm-6pm. Solovie is at 2804 Grand Ave. Everett Wa (about 30miles north of Seattle). They are open Tue-Sat 11am-5pm. For all you locals it is in the same building as Sisters restaurant. Here is the pic "Caribbean Sea" a highly textured 12"x24" mixed media abstract.

"Autumn Sunset Abstract"
Oh my it's been way too long. Judy, I hope you haven't "come a callin" already. I couldn't remember my user name and password (I know I wrote it down "somewhere") in order to switch to the new google-blog account thing. Well I have been lost in finding my artistic voice and I have to say I am happy with my progress so far. I can't say I'm thrilled the rejection I have recieved. I applied to Edmond's Art fair with my favorite piece (so far) called "Autumn Senset Abstract"and was rejected.
